Patch Medication, Globally

Teikoku Seiyaku can trace its origins back to 1848, when the company took over drug marketing rights and started operating in Sanbonmatsu, Sanuki, which is located in present day Kagawa Prefecture. We began manufacturing and marketing anti-inflammatory analgesic poultices using the old-fashioned clay/muddy style and oral analgesics in 1938. We at Teikoku Seiyaku have continued to contribute to medical innovations starting from the successful development of molded poultices such as hydrogel patches, hot sensation hydrogel patches and topical external products into an advanced system of transdermal products.
After more than 170 years, Teikoku Seiyaku is determined to become a company with a strong presence that solves unmet market needs with proprietary technologies. This strategy is called VISION2031. We hope to alleviate people around the world from all kinds of pain by utilizing the transdermal technology we have cultivated. This is not limited to physical pain but also psychological and social pain. We are determined to help both young and elderly people remain active and healthy for as long as possible. We are convinced that this will also help alleviate some of the potential future problems facing Japan and other countries struggling with declining birthrates and aging societies.
In recent years, the Japanese pharmaceutical industry has been forced to deal with various issues such as the revision of drug prices under the national medical insurance system and soaring raw materials and transportation costs. To resolve these issues, we have formulated a medium-term management plan called Challenge & Change 2026 in which we boldly tackle these issues and take on challenges to bring about meaningful change. For Teikoku Seiyaku to remain a sustainable company, the growth and experience of our younger generation is essential. We will create an environment in which each and every employee can give their all and be proud of their achievements, and we will work as one to constantly take on the challenge of change.
We look forward to your continued support in the future.

Misako Fujioka, President and CEO
